My first experiences in working with stained glass was in the 1980s when I did some basic leaded and copper foiled pieces but I stopped when family life made having glass around too complicated.  The opportunity to revive my skills came when a glass class opened in the village I live in and I am now working to expand my skills with leaded and copper-foiled work.  The acquisition of a kiln has also given the chance to work with fused glass which has opened up a new range of exciting possibilities.  I am enjoying combining the traditional leaded work with fused glass I have created to produce just the colours and textures I want for a particular piece rather than relying on the glass available from the limited number of suppliers.

 

Again, glass is a medium that allows me to work large or small, 2D or 3D, pictorial or decorative, functional or ornamental.  All options that feed my creativity and make each project an exciting adventure.
